Fixing A Leaky Bathtub Faucet
Fixing a leaky bathtub faucet is a repair that you should be able to do yourself, saving you a good amount of money.
Begin by cover the drain with a washcloth or some other cloth so that if you drop any small parts they won’t disappear down the drain.
Continue by removing the screw holding the handle in place and remove the handle, it may take a little prying so be careful not to cause any scratches. You should see an old washer. Replace the old washer with a new one if you see any other rusted washer, screws or o-rings replace them with new ones.
Replace or tighten any valves you may have removed and replace the handle. Start the water and see if you have any leaks. If there are no leaks then tighten the handle the rest of the way and you are done. If there is still a leak you might have a bigger problem and it might be time to call a plumber.
